I originally purchased an Ericsson T28 many years ago as my primary mobile.
It was used, and then I eventually upgraded. Left it in a drawer.
As circumstances permit, I have decided to use it again.
There is one practical reason, it has great sound quality and strong reception.
I found the phone, and the first thing I noticed, was that the battery was bulging, and not accepting any charge.
It probably had discharged permanently. I purchased a new one off ebay.
This was fine, slightly larger than the original ones, but it charged up well, and seems to work.
But, I encountered my next problem, the microphone is not working at all.
This prompted me to start a blog, since I am now going to try and repair it.
There could be two possible issues, either the front housing needs replacing, or the actual circuitry is damaged.
I am going to chance it, and purchase a new housing. I will then dismantle the phone, and replace the housing.
